Aida Namukose

Uganda

"I'll get to tell stories of people from different communities. LGBTQ+ people in Uganda, women in refugee shelters, [and] sex workers..."

Let’s get to know one another…

Aida Namukose is a 22 year old photographer, videographer and all round creative from Jinja, Uganda. Her specialty is portraits, and she loves meeting new people and capturing their essence with her lens. She hopes to capture and write about stigmatized communities in Uganda, contributing to making a more accepting society as a whole. In her free time she enjoys swimming in the river, learning about spirituality and eating groundnut sauce.

Work with me

We encourage organizations to work with and engage Minority Africa fellows. Here's how.

Commissioning them to cover stories.

To make a commissioning request for stories in the areas of interest particularly relevant to this fellow, please contact our fellowship team on fellowship@minorityafrica.org. Establish in your initial communication what the story is and what you’d particularly want the fellow to cover. Our team will pass this across to them and you will receive a response within a 48 hour span.

Press requests

We consider our fellows to be thought leaders in media, journalism, and coverage of minority groups particularly. If you’d like to interview them or get quotes from them for a story, do contact our team in charge of press requests on press@minorityafrica.org. For urgent inquiries, indicate so in the subject line.

Read the essential newsletter from our fellows

Once every month, Minority Africa fellows work together to send out a cohort led newsletter product of their own. Subscribe here to read this.
